Description: Ultrasound is not just for radiologists any more! It is a REQUIRED part of training in emergency medicine, OB/GYN, and Pulm/Critical Care. It is also rapidly growing in many other fields, including surgery, internal medicine, sports medicine, family medicine, and pediatrics. As a low cost, noninvasive imaging modality, Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) has utility for everyday clinical practice, underserved populations, and international medicine. Our POCUS group will provide instruction to all clinical students of Thomas Jefferson University (TJU). Events will be open to members of the Thomas Jefferson community. Our goals are to introduce students & members of the TJU community to the applications and approach of the quickly growing field of point of care ultrasound through: Lectures, Hands-on, guided practice, Conferences, and Mentorship.
