A team of fourth year Doctor of Pharmacy students, Abigail Bertonazzi, Andrea Lordan, and Bridgette Nelson, represented the Jefferson College of Pharmacy in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Clinical Pharmacy Challenge competition in October. Jefferson was one of 108 programs to participate in the competition and placed 2nd, being defeated in the final round by the team representing the University of Minnesota. The ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge is designed to allow a team from each college of pharmacy to compete in a “quiz-bowl” type of format. The first four rounds occur locally, with the top eight teams advancing to a live quarterfinal competition at the ACCP Global Conference. The team was coached by Dr Cynthia Sanoski, who commented that they performed at an extremely high level in answering very difficult clinical pharmacy questions throughout each round.
Jefferson has competed in this event four times. It is the third year that a Jefferson team has advanced to the quarterfinals and the first time a Jefferson team competed in the final. Congratulations to Abigail, Andrea, and Bridgette on their success.
