Narrative

I was born and raised in Queens, NY. I attended Binghamton University in upstate New York where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Afterwards, I worked as a research associate at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the Department of Tumor Immunology where I was involved in developing and studying DNA cancer vaccines and novel immune checkpoint inhibitors, which are currently being used in clinical practice. My academic pursuits led me to Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA where I earned my Master in Pharmacology investigating the role of hyperbaric oxygen on ischemia/reperfusion injury. I chose to continue my training at Tulane and enrolled in the Physician-Scientist Program, earning both my MD and PhD in Microbiology and Immunology investigating the role of regulatory T cells during influenza infection and vaccination. I subsequently completed my intern year at Tulane University in the Department of Internal Medicine prior to joining the Department of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson. I am interested in studying how radiation therapy in conjunction with immune checkpoint inhibitors alter the function of regulatory T cells in generating the abscopal effect. Outside of work I enjoy technology, working out, and partaking in Philly’s many culinary offerings.
