Jefferson Receives $1.2 Million Subcontract for Suicide Prevention Efforts

Matthew Wintersteen, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior is the Principal Investigator of a $1.2 million subcontract for suicide prevention efforts from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania received by Jefferson. The project, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), focuses on developing and implementing suicide prevention education, policies, and procedures into Pennsylvania's schools and colleges. Jefferson will also be the center for a Higher Education Suicide Prevention Coalition across Pennsylvania.
