Expertise & Research Interests

My research interest is focused on understanding of the genesis and mechanisms of pro-tumor activation of glioma-infiltrated M2 cells for future mechanistic, diagnostic and potentially therapeutic studies. The goal of my studies is to test the hypothesis that glioma progression is associated with the accumulation of cells bearing M2 monocyte/macrophages markers, which are the main sources of mediators for immunomodulation, angiogenesis and tumor progression.  Alternative activated and anti-inflammatory M2 cells may be an attractive target for future anti-cancer therapies.
