Institute of Emerging Health Professions
Community Health Worker Plus

New to the Institute of Emerging Health Professions is our Community Health Worker Plus (CHW) program.  The life of this program depends on job availability, as we strive to find job placement for each of our students (although job placement is not guaranteed).  Future offerings will be determined at the conclusion of our pilot program.

These students will come from three different tracks:

  1. Community Health Workers seeking advanced training.
  2. Certified Peer Specialists.  If you are not a Certified Peer Specialist but are interested in becoming one, please see application here.
  3. Certified Recovery Specialists

Through advanced training, graduates of this program will learn how to build individual and community health knowledge in order to improve quality and cultural competence of needed health services through outreach, community education, social support, advocacy, and care counseling.

Our 80-hour pilot program begins June 5, 2017.

We are no longer accepting applications but if you are interested in applying, please email
