The Steven H. Korman Center for Community Engagement is funded by philanthropist, Steven Korman. This center will develop novel programs to transform both the way community members engage with health care providers and the way healthcare providers engage with the community.

Educational Opportunities

Community Health Workers, Certified Peer Specialists and Certified Recovery Specialists will join together for 80 hours of intensive training allowing for a dual-certification upon completion.  These advanced skills will allow students to have a competitive edge when entering the workforce.

Medical Assistant: Return to Work Program

Through the Korman Center for Community Engagement and in partnership with CareerLinks and Philadelphia Works, unemployed Certified Medical Assistants will be screened, and successful candidates will be hired by Jefferson as full-time employees.
