The 9th International Meeting on the Psychosocial Aspects of Genetic Testing for Hereditary Cancer will be held at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, USA on June 9 & 10, 2005.

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing and scientific committees it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 9th International Meeting on the Psychosocial Aspects of Genetic Testing for Hereditary Cancer on June 09-10, 2005, hosted by Thomas Jefferson University, Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and the Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA, United States of America.  We are very excited as this is the first time this meeting will be held in the United States.

The meeting will be an opportunity to improve cross-cultural communication and collaboration among clinicians and researchers involved in the psychosocial aspects of genetic testing for hereditary cancer. Outstanding leaders in this field have accepted our invitation to be keynote speakers at this meeting, to present the latest developments in chemoprevention in the USA and the UK, prevention strategies, the “patient” doctor, impact of genetic testing on women, children, and families, and pharmacogenetics.

I welcome you all to submit your abstracts and to come and be part of this excellent opportunity to hear the latest developments and network with your colleagues in the USA, Europe, Australia, and Japan.  I hope that the meeting is informative and your time in Philadelphia is enjoyable!

All my best,

Kathryn M. Kash, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, and Chair of the Organizing Committee
