Dr. Lallas is an assistant professor of urology at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed medical school in 1998 at Jefferson before going to Duke University to complete a general surgery internship and urology residency in 2004. Afterward, he completed a one-year fellowship in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopy and robotic surgery, at the Mayo Clinic Arizona.
His clinical focus is minimally-invasive treatment of urologic oncology, including laparoscopic kidney, prostate, and bladder surgery. Dr. Lallas has performed clinical and basic science research in the areas of endourology, laparoscopy, and prostate cancer, and has peer-reviewed publications in all of these fields. He is a reviewer for the American Urologic Association.
He currently is the chair of the Robotic Surgery Committee at Jefferson and is involved in planning medical student, resident, and staff training in robotic surgery. In addition, he is involved with Intuitive Surgical, the company behind the da Vinci® robot, in speaking to and proctoring local urologists through robotic prostatectomy cases.
