Founded in
1903, Frankford Hospital began as a small community hospital.
Today, Frankford is the leading and largest healthcare provider
in Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County with three modern
inpatient facilities and three outpatient sites. Frankford began
its comprehensive Cancer Program in 1992, offering patients a
full range of high-quality oncology and support services. Board-certified
surgeons and surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists and medical
oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, pain management specialists,
certified cancer nurses, a dedicated research nurse and social
workers team together to treat both the physical and emotional
sides of cancer in a comfortable setting.
Frankford
is a member of the Jefferson Health System and the Jefferson Kimmel Cancer Center
Network. This pairing, benefits patients by providing access to
nationally and internationally renowned medical specialists, the
newest technology and the latest clinical research. Collaboratively,
we can ensure that all patients are offered the best available
treatments options.
Our newly
renovated and upgraded radiation oncology department has the latest
technology including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT),
prostate “seed” brachytherapy and a CT simulator right in the
treatment area. All radiation oncologists are faculty members
of the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
They work with an experienced team of clinical support staff to
customize each individual patient’s treatment.
