Keller Donation Supports GI Education
Robert Keller recently made a $41,000 gift to support gastroenterology education for faculty and fellows of the Jefferson Digestive Disease Institute.
The donation will enable faculty and fellows of the Institute to attend educational conferences and conduct research to find new therapies and treatments that make a difference in patients’ lives.
The Institute is conducting more than 25 clinical trials that, to date, have resulted in 40 peer-reviewed publications, 25 abstracts, five book chapters, and more than 70 lectures and presentations. The gift, which enables this work to continue, is part of the Keller family’s commitment to supporting gastroenterology and hepatology services at Jefferson.
For the fifth year in a row, the GI division was named one of the top 25 programs in the nation for gastrointestinal diseases by U.S. News & World Report, moving from the rank of 22 to 21.
