The Methodist Hospital Division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital provides patients in South Philadelphia with access to the latest developments in radiation therapy research, technology and treatment. This is the only facility in South Philadelphia dedicated to radiation therapy. The Radiation Oncology Pavilion at Methodist Hospital is managed by an experienced team including a Radiation Oncologist from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s Department of Radiation Oncology and staffed by technologists and nurses from Methodist Hospital. Patients over age 18 with all types of cancer are treated at the Radiation Oncology Pavilion at Methodist Hospital.

Advanced Therapy in a Convenient Hospital Setting

The Radiation Oncology Pavilion provides the latest in radiation therapy advances:

  • 3-Dimensional Conformal Radiation Therapy

  • Varian 2100C dual energy linear accelerator with two photon energies and five electron energies

  • Ability to customize treatment fields utilizing Multi-Leaf Collimation (MLC)

  • Prostate Brachytherapy

As part of the Jefferson Kimmel Cancer Center Network, this facility provides patients an opportunity to benefit from:

  • Clinical trial investigations in radiation therapy sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute

  • Diagnostics and preventive measures, and leading-edge studies and findings in radiation therapy from Jefferson’s Kimmel Cancer Center
