About The Author

Adam P. Dicker, M.D., Ph.D. is a Radiation Oncologist specializing in
the treatment of prostate cancer. Dr. Dicker is also an Assistant Professor
of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson Medical College and a member of
the Kimmel Cancer Center.
Dr. Dicker has conducted extensive research on prostate cancer therapies
with a specific focus in brachytherapy (seed implantation therapy). He has
co-authored several book chapters and published abstracts and articles that
have appeared in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Dicker has presented research
at the annual meetings of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology
and Oncology (ASTRO) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
Dr. Dicker is an active member of several professional societies in including
the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), ASTRO and RSNA. His
honors and recognitions include the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology
Fellowship and the Vincent du Vigneaud Award of Excellence from Cornell
University. Dr. Dicker has also recently received grants from the Smith
and Foerderer Foundations for his laboratory research in prostate cancer.
Dr. Dicker earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia College, New
York, Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics from Cornell University
Graduate School of Medical Sciences and M.D. from Cornell University Medical
College, New York. He completed his internship in Surgery at Lenox Hill
Hospital, New York and residency in Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center, New York.
